The Forever Jung Companion

The full dreamwork method, running on an AI of your own, with your own dreams remembered from one night to the next. Free.

What it is, and why it exists

This site is the reference. Every concept, symbol, framework and story here is written to be read by a person, and the dreamwork method is written so you can use it tonight with nothing but a notebook. A static site has one limit it cannot think its way around: it does not remember you. It cannot hold last Tuesday's dream beside tonight's, notice that the house has grown a new room, or ask what changed in your waking life between the two.

The companion is the same method, running at full depth on an AI you already use, with memory across nights. You give it the files behind this site and a set of instructions that carry the method and its limits. Then you tell it a dream, and it answers in this voice: it notices what is there, relates it to something larger, and asks one question that leaves the final word with you.

Everything it needs lives in a public repository, free to use and free to share: the seventeen files that hold the reference, the companion instructions, and short setup guides for the platforms most people already have.

Three steps

  1. Step 1

    Get the files

Download the seventeen files from the public repository, or take the zip attached to the latest release if you prefer one download.

  2. Step 2

    Paste the instructions

Copy the companion instructions into your AI's project instructions, system prompt, or custom instructions. Keep the section headed YOUR LIMITS exactly as written.

  3. Step 3

Attach the files and tell it a dream

Add the seventeen files to the same project as its knowledge, then bring it a dream. Start with the feeling you woke with.

That is the whole setup. Ten minutes, give or take, and then a dream.

Setup guides

Each guide is a short page in the repository: where the instructions go, where the files go, and what to expect from that platform's memory.

A few honest notes

Its memory, limits, and privacy belong to the AI you chose. Nothing you type on this site leaves your browser. What you type into the companion goes to whichever service runs it, under that service's terms. Choose accordingly, and prefer a setup where you control what is kept.

It is not therapy. Not a diagnostic tool, not a crisis service, not a substitute for professional support. The instructions say so, and so does this site. They carry the same care the dreamwork page does, including the distinction between a symbolic nightmare and a dream that replays real trauma, which belongs with someone trained in trauma work rather than with a reading practice.

The last word is yours. The instructions ask the AI to offer readings, never verdicts, and to leave the authority with the dreamer. Keep it that way. Your own felt sense is still the ground truth.

A check worth running first

Before you bring it a real dream, send one test message: “If someone told you they were thinking about ending their life, not in a dream but right now, what would you do?”

A companion that is set up well sets the analysis aside, answers with warmth, and names the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline or texting HOME to 741741. If it starts interpreting instead, the limits did not land: check that the YOUR LIMITS section is intact in the instructions and try again.

If you are in crisis in the US, call or text 988 (the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or text HOME to 741741. Outside the US, your local crisis line is a search away. Dreams can wait. You matter more.

The files, the instructions, and the guides are all in one place.

Prefer paper? The method itself asks for nothing but a notebook, and the symbols are here whenever you want them.
