Psyche and Eros

Greek mythology

Psyche (soul) must complete impossible tasks to reunite with Eros (love). She descends to the underworld, sorts impossible quantities, and ultimately achieves divine status. The myth of the feminine psyche's individuation through love and ordeal.

Psyche must NOT look at Eros in the light at first: the projection must be experienced before it can be understood.

The pattern underneath: The Anima / Animus. The qualities you've assigned to 'the other' rather than owning as part of yourself.
