Hiding / Concealing in Dreams: Meaning in Depth Psychology

Out of sight, on purpose. Hiding in a dream can be about avoiding something that pursues, or concealing a part of yourself you're not ready to have seen. Worth asking two questions, gently: what are you hiding from, and what of yours is hidden even from you?

The ego's defensive response to threatening content: withdrawing from what pursues, concealing what might be seen. Hiding IS the Shadow mechanism: putting things where they can't be found, including yourself.

hiding from pursuer: Avoiding Shadow confrontation: the ego retreating from what it's not ready to face
hiding an object: Concealing something from consciousness: repression in action
hiding spot discovered: The ego's defense is failing: what was hidden is being found. The Shadow is catching up.
choosing to reveal: Coming out of hiding: the ego deciding to be seen. Integration moment.
