Four / Wholeness in Dreams: Meaning in Depth Psychology
Four is completeness. Four corners, four directions, four seasons: when four organizes a dream, something in you is settling into wholeness, or being invited to. Jung saw four as the signature of the Self, the shape a psyche makes when nothing is left out.
THE CORE MEANING
Completeness, the quaternity, the mandala principle, the four functions fully integrated, the four directions, the four elements. Jung considered four the number of psychological wholeness: the Self's signature. Where three is dynamic and incomplete, four is stable and whole.
